Where are Platinum cured silicone Smart Gaskets® used?
Platinum cured silicone Smart Gaskets ® or ported gaskets are multi-purpose validation gaskets used to obtain measurements in high-purity pharmaceutical systems.
Why Choose a Platinum cured silicone Smart Gasket®?
Due to its smooth finish, platinum cured silicone resists product adhesion. It’s the material of choice in sanitary water systems when PTFE is not feasible due to severely misaligned fittings, or if the cost of high pressure clamps does not outweigh the benefits of PTFE (extended service life).
Easily installed with standard Tri-clamp fittings, the gaskets can have one to four moulded ports for housing a variety of Smart Gasket® Accessories such as temperature probes and sampling/injection tubes.
Where not to use a Platinum cured silicone Smart Gasket®
Platinum cured silicone Smart Gasket® are not suitable for extremely low temperatures.
If validation and process measurement is not being performed, then this is an unnecessary gasket.
