Where are Platinum cured silicone sock screen gaskets used?
High purity platinum cured silicone sock screen gaskets are regularly used in the transfer of liquids from a bulk tank to a tank truck and/or in the opposite direction, sanitary sock screens are specifically designed for high volume applications with low pressure drop. Due to the large capacity and open screen area, sock screens require less service therefore reducing downtime and costly change outs, a major consideration with in-line pharmaceutical processing. Each gasket easily installs between any ASME BPE or standard tri-clamp, which are used widely in the food, dairy, beverage, biotech, pharmaceutical, and all other sanitary process industries to seal clamp connections in sanitary pipe lines.
If elimination of particulates and reduced downtime are critical to your process, then a sock screen gasket is for you.
Why Choose a Platinum cured silicone sock screen gaskets?
Due to its smooth finish, platinum cured silicone resists product adhesion. It’s the material of choice in sanitary water systems when PTFE is not feasible due to severely misaligned fittings, or if the cost of high pressure clamps does not outweigh the benefits of PTFE (extended service life).
Sock screen strainer designs are inserted into the I.D. of your stainless steel tubing and provide filtration for a greater soil retention. The extended sock shaped mesh gasket offers up to 300% more open area for 300% more soil collection capability than conventional screens. Where not to use a Platinum cured silicone sock screen gaskets
Not suitable for extremely low temperatures – it doesn’t keep it’s cool like as well as a PTFE gasket.
