Where are PTFE gaskets used?
PTFE screen gaskets are designed to be interchangeable with standard sanitary clamp gaskets, which are used widely in the food, dairy, beverage, biotech, pharmaceutical, and all other sanitary process industries to seal clamp connections in sanitary pipe lines. If elimination of particulates are critical to your process, then a screen gasket is for you.
Why Choose a PTFE screen gasket?
PTFE screen gaskets can remain in service for longer periods of time in both water and steam applications. PTFE has minimal extractables, has a low absorption rate and excellent resistance to process fluids. USP Class VI fluoropolymer FKM screen gaskets can be chosen in a variety of mesh sizes, 10 through 100.
Where not to use a PTFE screen gasket
Whenever low-temperature flexibility or gasket memory is required. PTFE is not recommended with large temperature variations due to creep and cold flow.
